Hillarys room design challenge by interior designer Daniela Tasca York

Daniella quote box

For me the finished room encompasses everything I love about minimalism. It feels refreshing and restful and elevates my mood. The mix of materials such as the marble, porcelain, and tone on tone fabrics give the room a layered but modern feel.

What's your interior design style?

Minimal Luxe: Styled by Daniela Tasca York

Daniela Tasca York, interior stylist and winner of the 2017 Great Interior Design Challenge, picks her favourite curtain and voile fabrics from our new collection to design a sensational interior in her signature Minimal Luxe style.

  • Minimal Luxe interiors are modern, luxurious & classic
  • Get the look with layered curtains and voiles
  • Choose tone-on-tone neutral shades
  • Made-to-measure for a designer finish

Daniela Tasca York romped to victory in the BBC’s 2017 Great Interior Design Challenge, impressing the judges with her clean and understated aesthetic.

With a background in fashion and photography, along with her love of the laid-back lifestyle of her former home in Ibiza, it’s no surprise that Daniela’s designs exude luxury and glamour.

We asked Daniela to show us how to create her signature look using fabrics from our stunning new curtains and Roman blinds collection. Daniela chose to layer tone-on-tone fabrics in subtle neutral shades, combining different textures and fabric weights to achieve this fabulously chic finish.

Daniela’s fabric choices

Daniela combined elegant Tetbury Ivory with creamy Clarence Off-White curtains, and finished the look with sheer Lyra Ivory voiles for an unashamedly romantic feel. She accessorised with embroidered cushion covers in Mindoro Opal , shimmering Fascination Silver and her favourite shade of blue, Fascination Denim .

Why choose made-to-measure

Daniela is a huge fan of made-to-measure curtains. She told us: ‘Ill-fitting curtains actually harm the overall feel of a design, leaving things looking a little unloved. I would always suggest to clients having curtains made-to-measure.’
