It’s not finished quite yet, but I’m so excited about the way the kids room is looking that I wanted to share a bit of it! Two weeks ago this was an incredibly uninspiring room / dumping ground for everything that wasn’t in their bedroom. There was a grey office carpet, white walls, a yoghurt-stained grey sofa and an assortment of storage that had seen better days. In short, it wasn’t surprising they never used it. I wanted to create a space for my children that was fun, but was somewhere that would grow with them. I ALSO wanted this room to pull together all the colours that I’ve used downstairs. The walls are painted in @duluxuk Breton Blue. I wallpapered the ceiling in a bargain chevron I found on @wallpaperdirect. The floors are simple oak engineered wood boards sourced by my builder and then stained to tone with the ones in the living room (for which we paid a lot more money!) I chose bright green shutters from @hillarysblinds, which are colour matched to my stair carpet - because as you come in through the front door, you see the stairs AND this room, so I wanted it to connect visually. But the real focal point is the mural - and I am SO glad we went for it! It’s by the incredible @annamproctor and YES, I got some leopard in there! I’ll share more soon 💚 #ericadavieshouse (PS I also want to say that a bit more space was the reason we moved out of London and I really do appreciate how lucky we are to have a room like this for the kids)
