As the clothes we see on the catwalk increasingly influence the way we decorate our rooms, home interest magazines have begun to mirror their runway counterparts. Each month, we will take an in-depth look at an emerging trend and offer ideas on ways to use this in your interior.

This month, take a look at the rich jewel tones that have been glimmering on the Autumn/Winter catwalks.

The runways

This season’s runways are Jewel-inspired, with plenty of stylish pieces ready for the upcoming party season. Jenny Packham’s show sent luxurious sapphire hues down the catwalk. Floaty fabrics and sparkling sequins provide a gorgeous mix of textures.

Zac Posen made a bold statement with rich shades of ruby. The colour accentuates these over-the-top silhouettes, while a touch of sparkle makes things pop.

The high street

The high street was quick to latch on to the trend too, providing us with plenty of ways to add something luxurious to our wardrobes. Look out for a whole sophisticated range of tones, from lush jade to warming amber.

The interiors

Jewel is a fantastic trend to bring to your home, either as the theme for a whole room, or as an accent colour. ‘Jewel: The Edit’ , a collection of sumptuous fabrics in striking shades can help you bring the trend to your home.

Be brave, and combine crimson walls with coordinating skirting boards. Or for those not ready to wield the paintbrushes just yet, our Element Vermillion and Tetbury Red cushions provide a vibrant alternative.

For a softer look, try bringing in pops of Jade. It’s a shade that brings a touch of the outdoors into your home, and looks fantastic when used to revitalise vignettes. Here, a vintage box and lush vase add interest to a neutral display.

Amber is a stunning, cheerful shade that lends itself well to modern or Scandi interiors. Here, dashes of the burnt yellow hue feature on our Bohemia Gold Roman blind and accessories to add warmth to our neutral living room, providing a lovely focal point at the window.

If blue is your favourite, then Sapphire is the perfect way to channel the trend. The vivid shade mixes well with other jewel tones, including Ruby and Jade. Combine sumptuous curtains, like our Element Denim fabric, with rich walls for maximum impact, or keep the rest of the room neutral for a twist of something striking.
