Are plantation shutters waterproof?

Our Henley range is made from a premium polymer which is moisture-resistant and extremely hard-wearing which means your shutters are built to hold their shape and colour in the most humid of rooms

Are shutters good for kitchens?

Yes, shutters can be an excellent choice for kitchens for many reasons. These rooms tend to have higher humidity levels and are prone to moisture from cooking and washing dishes, but shutters like those in our Henley range are specifically designed to withstand these conditions and are less likely to warp or be affected by moisture. They’re really easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth, making them a convenient choice for busy areas of your home.

Shutters are also a practical choice for kitchens where ventilation is important but privacy is an issue. By partially opening the louvres, you can let fresh air circulate into the kitchen without compromising your privacy.

Can shutters help with temperature control in my kitchen?

Yes, shutters are an excellent way to control temperature and improve the energy efficiency of your home. They fit snugly at your window, helping to reduce draughts that can slip through the gaps in your frames by providing a barrier at your window that keeps the cold out and the warmth in. We worked with the experts at Salford University to understand how our products can help prevent heat loss. The results from their specially created lab, the 'Energy House' showed that our shutters reduce heat loss by 36%. In the months of summer, shutters are great for keeping rooms cool too. Tilt the louvres closed when the sun is at its hottest to keep your space at a comfortable temperature.
