What are they, how do they work and why should you choose Voile curtains for your windows?

1. What are Voile curtains?

A modern take on traditional net curtains, Voile curtains are made with sheer, translucent fabric providing daytime privacy without blocking out the natural light.

While net curtains are knitted, sheer curtains are woven, which means the fabric has a super-smooth finish that’s naturally sleek and effortlessly elegant.

Our Voile curtains are weighted at the hem, so they drape beautifully whether they’re at windows or doors.

2. Where can Voile curtains be used?

Voile curtains are a dynamic product suiting lots of different types of windows, but where they work especially hard is at large glass expanses.

A beautiful solution for French doors, sliding doors and bi-folds, Voiles create a striking finish without taking away from the view.

They are also ideal for living areas and other rooms that are overlooked, as you can keep them closed during the day for much-needed privacy.

Our homes are our personal spaces and Voile panels keep your space private without distracting from your existing décor.

3. Are Voile curtains just for the summer months?

Voile curtains are a fantastic all year round product.

They're lightweight and floaty for the summer months, helping to diffuse the sunlight without plunging your room into darkness, while in the winter they can be layered with other products such as thermal or blackout lined curtains for a cosy and warm solution.

4. What header types are available?

A curtain header is how the fabric is sewn or pleated at the top of the curtain. The type of header you choose has a direct impact on the way the fabric drapes or hangs but we've got lots of different options to suit any style.

For a modern look at the window, choose a wave header. Creating beautiful soft ripples in the fabric, this type of header is a great choice for Voile curtains at large glass expanses as they can be easily tucked aside when not needed.

If a more relaxed and rustic look that suits you, a pencil pleat creates a looser, less structured look that is equally as beautiful.

Voile curtains are helpful if you’re working from home as they can be easily pulled across the window to shade your screen from sunlight without blocking the outdoor view

5. Can Voiles be layered with other products?

Pair Voile curtains with standard curtains from our made to measure range. All our curtains are fully lined and there are thermal and blackout options if you are looking for a solution to a specific problem.

Voile curtains also sit beautifully with blinds, providing a luxurious feel and softening the overall look.

Choose a blackout lining for a Roman blind or a blackout Roller blind fabric for maximum control of light and privacy.
