Nest Almond

The word nest conjures up a safe place, somewhere secure, nurturing and warm, and that’s exactly the feeling that this fabric provides. It’s a boucle fabric, the uneven texture coming courtesy of the twisted yarns of varying thicknesses and lengths and also the way in which the fabric is woven, as tension is applied to one strand while the other is left loose, allowing one to form loops over the base. It does bring to mind a bird’s nest, when you look at the way the multiple layers are woven together to create an amazingly solid structure inside. It’s a great way of adding texture into any room, particularly if you want to keep a neutral colour scheme. Nest Almond is the brown colourway in this range, the colour broken up thanks to the white threads so it’s not overly prominent. Curtains in Nest Almond will give you a sense of depth at any window you use them, creating a haven of peace and calm.

All our curtain fabrics are dry clean only, but there are other ways to keep your curtains looking great for longer. You can gently vacuum by using the upholstery attachment on your machine, or use a steamer starting at the top and working in large sweeping movements to the bottom of the curtains. For velvet fabrics, steam them from the lining side only. It is important to avoid getting water or steam on the face of the fabric as this may cause permanent damage. Check the fabric swatch for more information. Note: Curtains may shrink up to 3% after the first dry clean.

Standard curtains themselves are inherently child safe. However, as with all window dressings where cords are used, you should take steps to regularly check that your curtains are safe for children. This includes making sure that any cords used to hold header pleats in place are tied together and secured at all times, especially if you decide to adjust the header pleats after your curtains have been fitted. Never leave a length of cord exposed. Curtain tie-backs can also pose a risk to young children when they are looped in place around your curtains. We do not recommend curtain tie-backs in homes where young children are resident or visit. If you choose a corded curtain option, additional child safety devices will be fitted as standard. A tension spring device will be included to keep the cords under constant tension and a safety hook will be fitted to an adjacent wall with the cords hooked through to keep them out of reach of children.
