Living room Curtains

classic window dressings

Samantha Gibson by Samantha Gibson

When it comes to classic window dressings, curtains are always practical and stylish. Choose the right combination of colour, pattern and texture, and your living room curtains will effortlessly enhance your décor and add a sophisticated finish.

PLAIN CURTAINS

If you are choosing plain curtains, select a quality fabric that complements your décor. For a natural scheme, go for cotton rich or linen fabrics. And for a sophisticated look, choose silks and satins. Consider, too, the way the fabric hangs and moves, as different fabrics will behave differently. For a full effect, opt for a pencil pleat curtain . Choose a pinch pleat curtains or eyelet curtains for a more uniform look.

PATTERNED CURTAINS

If you want your curtains to make more of a statement at your window, we have a wide range of classic and contemporary designs.  Choose a neutral background and pick out one or two accent colours that coordinate with your living room furnishings. We can also make cushion covers in your chosen patterned fabric for a coherent scheme.

FLORAL CURTAINS

Everyone loves to live with pretty florals. They make a room instantly feel bright and summery. For a traditional or romantic look, choose prints featuring large blooms such as roses, peonies or lilacs and for a spring fresh feel opt for wildflowers and meadow flora, such as primroses and poppies. And for an upmarket, sophisticated look, choose a print with a small flower or blossom with a close repeat.

LAYERING CURTAINS

For a cosy feel, layer your living room curtains with a Roman blind.  You can choose thermal curtain linings for a really snug feel. Or, for a romantic look, add some voile curtains. Our curtains and Roman blinds have been designed to coordinate beautifully. But, if you’re unsure, our expert in-home advisors will be able to show you how the fabrics will work together at your window using our visualisation tool.
