Global Fusion Fabrics
Every culture has its own unique design techniques that we can borrow from to create fresh and eclectic interiors, rich in texture and pattern.
For our new collection of curtains and Roman blinds we’ve scoured the world to bring you some of the best and most original designs to inspire your interior décor. Here, we introduce the gorgeous global-inspired fabrics in the range.
A decorative geometric print inspired by the ornamental fretwork often used in Moroccan architecture. In this laid-back kitchen we’ve chosen the warm tones of Harran Coral for our Roman blind and picked out the on-trend coral hues for the wall art and accessories, with lush succulents and basket ware finishing this exotic look.
Colourful mosaic tiles have been used for centuries to embellish furniture, walls and floors and we’ve translated this look into our gorgeous Mosaic Tile blue curtain fabric. The design combines shades of turquoise and white for a fresh Mediterranean flavour. In this cool dining room, the polished stone floor, white walls and marble dining table bring the best elements of a traditional hacienda into a contemporary interior.
Impressionist artists use fluid watercolours to capture fleeting moments in time, and this technique inspired the painterly brushstrokes that make up this gorgeous Impression Marine fabric Roman blind. Using this laid-back living room blind with the subtle wash of colour, along with the bleached wood panelling creates a sense of calm and relaxation. Sumptuous cushions covered in complementary prints and textural plains from our new collection finish this easy look.
Tribal designs are a huge style story this season, with interiors combining neutral shades, bold pattern, hand crafted materials and lush greenery in a melting pot of rustic delights to soothe the senses. In this classy living room, we’ve chosen Muriva Cocoa brown curtains for the huge bow windows and finished the creamy sofa with woven cushion covers in fade-out shades. Basket weave and rich mahogany add depth and texture to this tribal story.
Batik is an Indonesian dyeing technique where simple patterns are created by pre-treating sections of fabric with wax to prevent the coloured dye from covering the entire area. This creates a distinct, watercolour effect which is highlighted against the bright white background. In this dramatic office space, the bold geometric shapes on our Shibori Aquamarine blue Roman blind draw the eye deep within the room, creating a distinctive focal point.
Ikat is another technique originating from Indonesia. Ikat patterns are created by tie-dying individual threads before they are woven into fabrics to create distinct patterns. Mindoro is an ikat print in subtle fade-out shades that oozes understated elegance and worldly sophistication. In this stylish bedroom, we’ve chosen Mindoro Opal white Roman blinds to add to the air of luxury and refinement. A cool palette of white, vanilla and linen creates a cool and calm aesthetic.
The iconic roof shape of an Arabian Minaret is the inspiration behind this contemporary wave design, with a palette influenced by the colourful wares on sale in the local bazaars. This gorgeous Souk Spice Roman blind combines hot paprika and chilli shades with cooler sage and aqua tones. The vibrant tones along with the fluid pattern transform this low-key office into an exciting and stimulating space.
